Temecula schools’ critical race theory meeting has debate, picketers

An emotional marathon meeting on critical race theory in Temecula schools featured picketers, panelists denouncing the framework, others saying it’s never been taught in the district and several confrontations.

The Temecula Valley school board’s new conservative Christian majority organized the public workshop Wednesday night, March 22, at James L. Day Middle School to explain what the theory is and why they banned it in December. Approximately 300 attended the session, which lasted about four hours.
